Program Overview

Achieving LDL goals in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) has resulted in a significant challenge for primary care clinicians. Despite continued efforts of treating dyslipidemia to the current NCEP-ATP lll (National Cholesterol Education Panel Adult Treatment Panel III) goals, achievement of LDL goals in patients continues to be variable. This educational session will review the current practice recommendations, clinical trials that discuss the LDL-C targets and their implication on treatment strategies and based on current data will reinforce the need for aggressive approaches for patients who are at increased risk and require significant lipid reduction.
